Terms of Service

Effective October 4, 2026

These terms govern your use of GearCred, operated by Windy Point Media, LLC. By using GearCred you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use GearCred.

What GearCred is

GearCred lets outdoor creators share the gear they use and lets shoppers find and buy it from retailers. Purchases happen on retailer websites, not on GearCred. We are not the seller, and the retailer's terms apply to your purchase, shipping, returns, and warranty.

Affiliate disclosure

Many gear links on GearCred are affiliate links. When you buy through one, the creator and GearCred may earn a commission from the retailer, at no extra cost to you.

Accounts

  • You must be at least 16 to create a shopper account and at least 18 to be a creator or brand user.
  • Keep your login secure. You are responsible for activity on your account.
  • Give accurate information, including the payout and tax details creators need to be paid.

Creators

  • Only tag gear you have actually used or are honestly recommending, and only post content you own or have the right to share.
  • Follow the FTC's rules on endorsements, including disclosing brand relationships and free products in your posts. GearCred labels affiliate links, but your own disclosures are still your responsibility.
  • You keep ownership of your content. You give GearCred a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, display, and promote it on GearCred and in marketing for GearCred, for as long as it is on the platform.
  • Commissions are paid according to the creator payout terms provided to you, based on sales confirmed by the affiliate networks. Reversed or returned orders are not paid.
  • If you connect a social account, you authorize us to access it as described in our Privacy Policy. You can disconnect at any time.

Brands

Brand users may manage their brand's presence, respond to creator requests, and upload brand assets they have the right to use. Brands are responsible for the products, codes, and samples they provide.

Things you may not do

  • Post content that is unlawful, misleading, infringing, or harmful, or impersonate anyone.
  • Post fake reviews or endorsements, or manipulate clicks, sales, or commissions.
  • Scrape, overload, or interfere with GearCred, or access other accounts.

We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these terms.

Our content

The GearCred name, logo, and site design are ours. Brand names and logos belong to their owners and appear to identify their products.

Disclaimers and liability

GearCred is provided as is. Creators' recommendations are their own opinions, and we don't guarantee any product, price, or availability shown. To the extent the law allows, Windy Point Media, LLC is not liable for indirect or consequential damages, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of $100 or the amount we paid you in the prior 12 months.

Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time (see Data deletion). We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms. Earned, confirmed commissions remain payable under the payout terms.

Changes and law

We may update these terms and will change the date above when we do. Continuing to use GearCred means you accept the update. These terms are governed by the laws of Virginia.
